JagROOTS

Vision Statement: To support the University’s goal to enrich the quality of student life and the living/learning environment.

Mission Statement: To better support the transition for students entering the University of South Alabama, the Multicultural Leadership Center offers JagROOTS, a mentoring program that projects accountability, dependability and minority retention.

JagROOTS is a one-on-one mentoring program that supports students in their transition to the University of South Alabama. This objective is achieved by connecting students with University facility, staff, and alumni who have common backgrounds or interest.

The JagROOTS Program is designed to help first-year, transfer, and continuing students become a valued part of the University and the Mobile area. The mentors and mentees participate in a series of skill-based activities that build relationships, connect communities, and explore opportunities.
